Parking at Toronto Airport: What Are the Options?
From short-term and long-stay lots to valet, free pick-up and drop-off zones, and even spaces booked ahead, Toronto Pearson covers the lot. Being the busiest airport in Canada, YYZ is geared up to handle the parking demands of passengers and visitors without fuss. What follows breaks down every Toronto airport parking choice in detail.
Express Parking at Toronto Airport
Set beside Terminal 1, the covered Express Parking Lot suits pick-ups, drop-offs, and short visits of up to 3 hours. It lies a mere 2 to 3 minutes from the terminal and takes no advance bookings.
Accessible spaces are provided here, plus 10 electric-vehicle charging points found at Level 4, Aisle C, Spot 19.
Daily Parking at Toronto Airport
You will find Daily Parking at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. These covered garages cater to anyone departing from or landing at either building, and they see plenty of use for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Sitting 3 to 5 minutes from the terminals, the garages link in via climate-controlled walkways. Accessible bays are available. Daily Parking at Terminal 3 holds 10 EV charging stations at Level 3, Aisle D, Spot 5, while Terminal 1 drivers can plug in over at Express Parking.
Online reservations are open for the Daily Parking garages.
Preferred Parking at Toronto Airport
With Preferred Parking, you secure a specific bay ahead of time and skip the hunt for an open space. The service runs at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 alike.
Over at Terminal 1, follow the "Preferred Park" signs to Level 3, Area E4 of the Daily Parking garage, a 3 to 5 minute walk from the building. At Terminal 3, Preferred Parking lands just 2 to 3 minutes from the entrance.
Accessible parking is on hand, though no EV charging stations sit within the Preferred Parking areas.
Valet Services and Fast-Track Parking
Two upmarket choices, classic Valet Parking and Fast-Track Parking (once called Express Valet), operate solely at Terminal 1.
Valet Parking lets you hand over the car curbside at Terminal 1 Departures (Post 9). When you come back, collect it from Level 5 of the Terminal 1 garage. Add-ons run to car washing and EV charging.
Fast-Track Parking has you drop your keys at the Customer Care Office inside the Terminal 1 garage, after which staff park the vehicle for you. The entrance is a 2 to 3 minute walk off. Book ahead or simply turn up, and EV charging is offered on request.
Long-Term Value Parking at Toronto Airport
For the lightest hit to your wallet over a long trip, the covered Value Park Garage and the open-air Value Park Lot are the picks at YYZ.
You reach Value Park Garage on the free Terminal Link Train, a 6 to 12 minute ride from the terminals. Accessible spaces are provided.
Value Park Lot counts 14 accessible bays. Riding the Terminal Link Train to the terminals takes anywhere from 9 to 15 minutes; the train runs 24/7, turning up every 4 to 8 minutes.
Viscount Station Reserved Parking
A low-cost long-term option, Viscount Station Reserved Parking is bookable only online. Rates shift about, and reserving early usually lands you a better deal.
The uncovered lot holds two accessible bays and ties to the terminals through the Terminal Link Train, which runs 24/7 every 4 to 8 minutes. The journey in takes around 6 to 12 minutes.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Options at Toronto Airport
Several ways exist to collect or drop someone at Pearson Airport:
- Free Pearson Cell Phone Lot: Wait up to 45 minutes inside your vehicle, with free EV charging on tap.
- Express Pass: Free parking for up to 18 minutes at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, booked in advance.
- Short-Term Paid Parking: Turn to Express Parking at Terminal 1 or Daily Parking at Terminal 3.
Pulling up outside the Arrivals or Departures doors is capped at 1 minute. Parking or waiting on the terminal roadways is strictly off-limits and draws fines. Each terminal's Departures level marks out accessible drop-off zones.
Tip: International arrivals can take 1 to 3 hours to clear customs, so factor that into your timing.
Park & Ride at Toronto Pearson Airport
Park & Ride lets you leave the car at Terminal 1 Daily Parking and head downtown on the UP Express train for one combined fare of 45 CAD (about 33 USD / 30€).
Once parked, make for the Level 5 West Lobby and follow the "Train to City" signs. Have your voucher and a valid ID or passport ready to show before boarding.
UP Express runs from 05:27 to 23:27 on weekdays and from 06:27 to 23:27 at weekends and on holidays. Trains depart every 15 minutes at peak times and reach the city centre in about 25 minutes.
The Park & Ride deal bundles up to 24 hours of parking with UP Express travel valid for 7 hours from first use. It stretches to cover up to 2 adults and 3 children (under 19). It applies on weekdays after 05:00 pm and all day at weekends and on holidays.
Tip 1: Airport shuttles serve off-airport parking facilities.
Tip 2: Further EV charging stations sit at the Cell Phone Lot and 3111 Convair Drive.
