DMCA Notice and Takedown Policy
This website, toronto-yyz-international-airport.com, respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how to report content here that you believe infringes your copyright, and how we respond. It follows the notice-and-takedown process of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
We are an independent, unofficial travel guide to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and are not affiliated with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) or any airline. Our original text, guides, diagrams, and layout are our own work; where we reference third parties, we do so only to identify the places and services we describe.
How do you report copyright infringement?
If you own the copyright to material that appears on this site without your permission, send a written takedown notice to our designated contact. To be valid, your notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature, or that of a person authorised to act for the copyright owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if several works are involved.
- Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, normally the exact URL on this site.
- Your contact details: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

We monitor this address and aim to acknowledge valid notices within a few business days. Please use it only for copyright matters; for general questions or corrections, use our contact page.
What do we do when we receive a valid notice?
When we receive a notice that meets the requirements above, we will remove or disable access to the material within a reasonable time and make a good-faith effort to notify the person who posted it, where that person is identifiable. We may keep a record of the notice. Nothing here waives any defence we may have, including fair use or fair dealing.
How do you file a counter-notification?
If your material was removed and you believe this was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same contact. To be valid, it must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in about 10 to 14 business days, unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action to keep it down.
What about repeat infringers?
We will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate access for users who are found to infringe copyright repeatedly.
A note on false claims
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation, for example that material is infringing when it is not, may be liable for damages. Please make sure your claim is accurate before you send it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
