Terminal 1 has three sealed departure zones — Domestic, International and US preclearance — and right now the International zone has no Plaza Premium lounge: the Gate E77 lounge is temporarily closed since 27 December 2025; reopening date not announced 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: GTAA closure notice. Once you are through security you are locked into one zone, so the only rooms that matter are the ones on your side of the doors. This page lists what is in each zone and how to reach it; who gets in with which card, status or ticket is on the access page, and the decision path itself — how lounge access at Pearson works before you pick a room — is on the parent page. Jump to Domestic, International or US transborder.

Terminal 1 Domestic

Domestic departures in Terminal 1 have three rooms: the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge on Level 4, the Air Canada Café next to it in Air Canada's own list, and the Plaza Premium Lounge at Gate D20. Only the Plaza Premium room sells entry to anyone; the two Air Canada rooms open on ticket, status or an Aeroplan credit card — which cards open Maple Leaf Lounges and which only open Plaza Premium is the access page's job, not this one's.

  • Who gets in: anyone with a same-day Domestic boarding pass — walk-in, pre-booked, Priority Pass, Amex Platinum or a bank lounge programme. • Inside: Air Canada lists showers with towels and toiletries as included. Opinions on this room versus Plaza Premium run both ways: "I always prefer the MLL because it has a self-serve bar, but lately it has been at capacity." (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026) against "The Plaza lounge is much better. Even spending time at the AC Cafe is better!" (user report, blog, captured September 2026)

Air Canada Café

Air Canada names the Café alongside the Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge as a room its lounge programmes open at Pearson. It is not a paid-entry product: one competitor guide labels it "Paid Entry", but Air Canada's own page does not, and the Café is absent from the airport's walk-in booking page.

Terminal 1 International

There is no Plaza Premium lounge in the Terminal 1 International zone right now. The Gate E77 lounge is temporarily closed since 27 December 2025; reopening date not announced 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: GTAA closure notice; the operator's own booking page speaks of "the opening of our new location" without a date, and every official source we checked calls the closure temporary, so we do too. The Maple Leaf Lounge International (Pier F) and the Signature Suite are open for their own passengers. If your plan was Priority Pass, Amex Platinum, a bank programme or paid entry, the airport's notice is the only official fallback: use the Terminal 1 Domestic lounge (Gate D20): enter through the domestic security checkpoint, then allow about 15 minutes to walk to the E gates 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: GTAA closure notice.

"Does this mean I can't access a lounge if I'm travelling international from Pearson Terminal 1?" (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026) — no, but you have to enter the terminal the other way round.

If you are flying international from Terminal 1, step by step

  • Decide before security. The detour means clearing the Domestic (D) checkpoint, not the International one. If you go through International security and walk towards the E gates, the doors are one way and there is no route back to the Domestic lounge. "Before you go left, past the door with no return, go right to the domestic lounge." (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026)
  • Amex Platinum: Amex's listing says a Plaza Premium reception desk sits immediately after the international checkpoint to guide eligible cardholders to the Domestic lounge, and puts that first leg at about a two-minute walk. The two figures measure different legs: Amex's is checkpoint to lounge, the airport's is lounge to E gates. Add both, plus the Domestic security queue.
  • Priority Pass and everyone else: the reroute exists only in the airport's notice ("we warmly invite you to visit our nearby Terminal 1 Domestic Lounge"). Priority Pass's own listing for the D20 room still says it is not accessible to international departures. Users report being admitted on an international boarding pass; nobody official confirms it, so ask at the desk before you commit to the D checkpoint.
  • Budget the walk back. The long leg is Domestic lounge to E gates. Users with children or slower walkers say to allow more than the notice's figure. See the D-to-E walk on the Terminal 1 map and how Terminal 1 zones and one-way doors are laid out.
  • No walking at all: Lounge to Go is sold in this zone (next section), but it is a meal, not a room, and it uses the same entitlement as a lounge visit.

Should you pre-book the Domestic lounge and, as one user put it, "trek the 15 mins"? Treat it as a time question: two legs of walking plus a two-hour card cap means that with under roughly two and a half hours between clearing security and boarding, the detour buys you very little sitting time.

Signature Suite

The Air Canada Signature Suite is not a Maple Leaf Lounge, and a Maple Leaf Lounge entitlement does not open it. It is a separate Air Canada dining product in the International zone — third-party reviews place it on the mezzanine next to Gate E77; Air Canada's own page is script-rendered and we could not capture it. Eligibility is paid Business Class (fare classes J, C, D, Z, P) or Aeroplan Business Class Flexible/Latitude rewards on an international Air Canada flight; no guests 2026年9月26日 時点で公式な値は未公表 · Air Canada (via TPG, user reports). Standard Aeroplan awards, eUpgrades, partner business class and elite status do not qualify, and there is no guest option. "We found that buying business class fares to Narita with Aeroplan points did not give us access to the signature lounge in Toronto (August 2025). My daughter and granddaughter were disappointed." (user report, blog, captured September 2026)

Status: according to user reports, the Suite closes 30 September 2026 for renovation; reported to reopen around December 2026, with a pop-up near Gate E85 and priority entry to the international Maple Leaf Lounge meanwhile 2026年9月26日 時点で公式な値は未公表 · user reports (Reddit, Live and Let's Fly). This is a future event and unverified against Air Canada as of the check date; if your flight is after 30 September, confirm with Air Canada before counting on it. Hours are not published: official hours not captured 2026年9月26日 時点で公式な値は未公表 · Air Canada; the entry window is the same as the Maple Leaf Lounges, up to 3 hours before departure; any time when connecting 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: Air Canada. For what it is worth to those who do qualify: "I was never so happy to have a delayed flight." (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026)

Lounge to Go

Lounge to Go is a pre-ordered meal box for pickup — it does not include access to a lounge 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: GTAA. Plaza Premium sells it at two counters: in Terminal 1 Domestic, immediately on your right after the D gates security; in Terminal 1 International, just beyond the doors of the transfer hall. The operator's booking page says in its own words that the product "does not include access to the lounge or any lounge services", and it carries its own online price, separate from lounge entry.

Two things to know before you use a card visit on it:

  • It counts as a visit. "you have to choose between domestic lounge or grab and go, no double dipping." (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026) Priority Pass's published rules for this product were not captured; the one-visit-one-product rule is user-reported and consistent across the reports we read.
  • Users who expected a room are not kind about it: "The grab and go option currently available is a waste of a lounge pass." (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026) It is, however, the only Plaza Premium product physically in the International zone while E77 is closed.

Terminal 1 US Transborder

US-bound passengers in Terminal 1 clear US preclearance first and are then sealed into the F pier, where there are three rooms: the Plaza Premium Lounge between Gates F33 and F55, the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Transborder on Pier F, and the Maple Leaf Lounge Express. Nothing on the Domestic or International side is reachable from here.

  • Status and hours: open 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: GTAA; open 05:30–21:00 daily 2026年9月26日 確認 · 出典: GTAA.
  • Who gets in: same as D20 — walk-in, pre-book, Priority Pass, Amex Platinum, bank programmes, with the same two-hour card cap; Priority Pass lists it as US departures only.
  • What to expect: on Priority Pass's own listing this room carried a member rating of 3.3 with more than 5,000 reviews when we checked — the lowest of any Pearson lounge on that site. In our sample of forum threads it is also the room most often named for queues: "i have never been able to utilize PP at YYZ due to the constant waitlist." (user report, Reddit, captured September 2026) Users describe a QR-code waitlist at the door; at least one blog visit in our sample walked straight in, so this is a pattern, not a rule. For the plan-B logic see why a valid card still may not get you in at peak times.

Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, Transborder

  • Where: Pier F, per Air Canada's lounge list.
  • Who gets in: the same Air Canada, Aeroplan, Star Alliance Gold and Aeroplan-card rules as Domestic — who gets into the Maple Leaf Lounge, and with which card.
  • Hours: not published by Air Canada in a form we could verify; see the table below.
  • Users sometimes call it the only alliance lounge past preclearance; Air Canada's page does not say that, so we do not either.

Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Express

Air Canada lists the Express alongside the Transborder lounge for US departures from Pearson. Its location is not given on the page we captured; third-party guides place it in the commuter pier serving Gates F84–F99, which we could not confirm. Users report it has no showers.
