Which lounge you can use at Pearson is decided by your departure zone – domestic, international or US – not by your terminal, and the zones are sealed from each other once you are past security. Two things shorten the list before you look at your card or ticket: the Terminal 1 International Plaza Premium Lounge at Gate E77 is temporarily closed since 27 December 2025; reopening date not announced ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: GTAA closure notice, and every lounge in the airport closes for part of the night. This page walks one path: your zone, what gets you in, whether the room is open at your hour, whether you will actually get a seat, and what to do if not. Room-by-room detail is on the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 pages; card, status and price rules are on the access page.

"which one can I go to instead?" is the question that opens more Pearson lounge threads than any other (user question, Reddit, 2026). If you are not sure which terminal your flight leaves from, find which terminal your airline uses at Pearson first; every lounge here is past security, so how long security takes at Pearson before you reach a lounge is part of the maths. Then find your zone:

  • Terminal 1 Domestic – flights within Canada, D gates
  • Terminal 1 International – non-US flights, E gates
  • Terminal 1 US transborder – F gates, past US preclearance
  • Terminal 3 Domestic and International – B and C gates
  • Terminal 3 US transborder – A gates, past US preclearance
  • Infield Concourse – reached by shuttle from either terminal

What counts as a lounge?

On this page a lounge is an airside room with seating, food and drinks that you enter with a lounge card, a ticket class, airline status or a payment. By that definition Pearson has fourteen rooms open on the day we checked, plus one closed room: six Plaza Premium lounges (Terminal 1 Domestic, Terminal 1 US, two in Terminal 3's domestic and international zone, Terminal 3 US and the Infield Concourse), with a seventh – Terminal 1 International – currently closed; Air Canada's three Maple Leaf Lounges, the Maple Leaf Lounge Express, the Air Canada Café and the Signature Suite, all in Terminal 1; and in Terminal 3 the Air France–KLM Crown Lounge and American's Admirals Club.

Other guides count eight, ten, thirteen or fourteen. The difference is what each writer includes: some add the Be Relax spas, a landside gym or sleep pods; some skip the Café and the Express room; some still list the closed E77 room as open; Priority Pass's own Pearson page counts "experiences", which mixes lounges with spas. Three things sold or listed next to lounges at Pearson are not lounges:

  • Lounge to Go – a pre-ordered meal box for pickup — it does not include access to a lounge ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: GTAA. Plaza Premium's booking page says it plainly: "This booking provides access to Lounge To Go services only and does not include access to the lounge" (Plaza Premium?propertycode=PRPRTY1371&currency=CAD)). One Priority Pass member's summary: "you have to choose between domestic lounge or grab and go, no double dipping." (user report, Reddit, 2026). See what Lounge to Go actually gets you in Terminal 1.
  • Be Relax – three spas that Priority Pass lists alongside the lounges; treatment rooms, not somewhere to sit with a meal.
  • GoodLife Fitness – a gym on the public side of Terminal 1. It matters only if you want a wash: where you can shower at Pearson, with or without a lounge.

Lounge by zone

Every zone except Terminal 1 International has at least one Plaza Premium room that takes lounge cards and paying passengers; Terminal 1 International currently has only Air Canada's rooms, and Terminal 3's international side adds the KLM Crown Lounge. Hours and prices per room are on the terminal pages.

The Infield Concourse room does not open in the morning at all – 15:00–22:30 daily ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: GTAA – and you reach it by shuttle, so it only matters if your flight boards there.

Two rules explain most of the confusion. First, the zones are sealed: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are not connected past security, and Priority Pass's own listings say each Plaza Premium room "is not accessible" to passengers departing from the other zones. "Terminal 3 is not connected airside so you would need to exit and reenter security at each end" (user report, Reddit, 2025–2026). The US zones sit past US preclearance; once you are through, the domestic and international rooms are behind you. Second, Terminal 1 International passengers with a lounge card or a paid pass have one workaround while E77 is closed – use the Terminal 1 Domestic lounge (Gate D20): enter through the domestic security checkpoint, then allow about 15 minutes to walk to the E gates ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: GTAA closure notice. The order matters: "Before you go left, past the door with no return, go right to the domestic lounge." (user report, Reddit, 2026). The walk, the one-way doors and how much margin to leave are on the Terminal 1 page.

How to get in (short)

There are four ways through a Pearson lounge door, and each opens a different set of rooms:

  • A lounge programme card – Priority Pass, DragonPass, Amex Platinum and the bank cards that bundle them – opens Plaza Premium rooms and the KLM Crown Lounge. It does not open a Maple Leaf Lounge or the Signature Suite.
  • Your airline – a business-class fare, Aeroplan or Star Alliance status, or an eligible Aeroplan credit card – opens the Maple Leaf Lounges and, under Air Canada's narrower fare rules, the Signature Suite. Aeroplan 50K/75K/Super Elite, Star Alliance Gold, eligible Aeroplan credit cards, Chase Sapphire Reserve (US), and partner status with Emirates and Virgin Australia — each with its own zone and companion rules ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: Air Canada.
  • Money – Plaza Premium sells entry at the door and cheaper online in advance; the KLM Crown Lounge sells entry at its desk; Air Canada sells a one-time Maple Leaf pass only online in advance, never at the airport on the day.
  • None of the above – then your plan is a restaurant near the gate, and the rest of this page still applies if you are weighing whether to pay.

Prices, the per-programme room list, entry windows, kids and guests are in one place: check what your card, status or ticket actually gets you at Pearson.

Will you get in?

Not necessarily, even with the right card or a paid pass. The verified fact is short: Amex's own listing for the Pearson Plaza Premium says "Access is not guaranteed and is subject to space availability" (American Express lounge finder). The rest is pattern, not rule.

In the user reports we collected, full rooms and waitlists are the most common complaint about Pearson lounges – ahead of food or price. "Always at capacity with a wait and cue." (user report, Reddit, 2025–2026). The mechanism is a waitlist by QR code or at the desk, with no estimate: "No clear timeline. No real sense of whether you'd be admitted in five minutes or 45 minutes." (user report, blog review). The same sample contains visits with no queue at all, at the same rooms, so read the table as the times when the odds are worse, not as a forecast.

Where users report queuesWhen, by those reportsWhat people do instead
Plaza Premium, Terminal 1 US (F gates) – the lowest-rated Pearson room on Priority Pass's own site at our checkMidday and the afternoon peak; across Plaza Premium rooms generally, Saturday morningsJoin the waitlist, then eat near the gate; the Maple Leaf Transborder room needs Air Canada eligibility
Plaza Premium, Terminal 3 International (C32) and the KLM Crown LoungeThe early-evening bank to Europe; KLM Crown reportedly turns lounge-card holders away at that peak to keep space for its own business passengersWhichever of the two is quieter; otherwise a restaurant near your gate
Maple Leaf Lounges, Terminal 1Evenings before the international waveAir Canada Café (Domestic) or the gate

What you can do about it:

  • Arrive with margin. Nobody in our sample was told how long the wait would be; time is the only lever you control.
  • Ask for the waitlist even when the sign says "at capacity". One reviewer was added and got in despite the sign; another waited through two rounds. Neither outcome is a promise.
  • Pre-book a Plaza Premium slot on the official GTAA lounge booking page. It fixes the price and your time window; it does not guarantee a seat when you arrive.
  • Do not plan on another zone. The room on the other side of preclearance, or in the other terminal, is not reachable.
  • Have a gate plan. If the waitlist is long and boarding is close, the best food near your gate if the lounge is full is usually the better use of the time: "If you have to line up for a lounge, take the L and go to a restaurant instead." (user report, Reddit, 2023–2026).

Whether a lounge card or a paid pass moves you up the list is disputed in the reports we have, so we do not claim it either way.

Hours and overnight

No lounge at Pearson is open through the night. Among rooms with published hours, the last to close is the Terminal 3 International Plaza Premium at 05:30–01:00 daily ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: GTAA and the first to open is the Admirals Club at 05:00–19:00 daily ověřeno 26. 9. 2026 · zdroj: American Airlines, with every Plaza Premium room starting later. Between that close and that opening there is nothing airside with a seat and a coffee, in either terminal.

Three facts frame the table: the five Plaza Premium rooms inside the terminals start their day at the same time and differ only in the close, and in Terminal 1 Domestic the close differs by source (next section); the Infield Concourse room is afternoon-and-evening only; and Air Canada does not publish Toronto lounge hours in a form we could verify, so the Maple Leaf Lounges and the Signature Suite appear as "not published" rather than with a number copied from a third party.

  • A late-evening departure. The only room whose published close runs past midnight is the Terminal 3 International Plaza Premium. In Terminal 1 Domestic, whether the lounge is still open around midnight depends on which official page you believe – the complaint one traveller had: "the hours aren't good for our red-eye flight (05:30 to 22:00)" (user report, Reddit, 2023–2026). Call the room before you count on it.
  • An overnight connection. A lounge is not a place to spend the night here: "Even if you could get to the lounges at the airport, the latest they're open is 0100." (user report, Reddit, 2023–2026). For the hours after the last close, see where to sleep at Pearson when the lounges are closed; for a long daytime connection, a lounge is one option among several – what else to do on a long layover at Pearson.

We do not state whether the Terminal 3 airside area stays open overnight; user reports disagree and we have no official source.

How we verify hours

Lounge hours at Pearson differ by source because four organisations publish them independently and update on different schedules: the airport authority (GTAA) on its lounge pages, the operator (Plaza Premium, KLM, American, Air Canada) on theirs, Priority Pass in its member listings and American Express in its lounge finder. None of them copies the others, and a seasonal change reaches one site weeks before another.

For the Terminal 1 Domestic Plaza Premium, captured on the same day, we found five official closing times:

SourceClosing time published
GTAA lounge page (airport authority) – our primary source05:30–22:30 daily
GTAA closure notice on the E77 pagehalf an hour earlier than its own lounge page
Plaza Premium (operator)after midnight, two and a half hours later than GTAA
Priority Passone minute before midnight
American Expressmidnight

Our rule, fixed on the day of the check: the GTAA lounge page is the primary source for Plaza Premium rooms, KLM's own page for the Crown Lounge, American's for the Admirals Club and Air Canada's for the Maple Leaf Lounges. Where another official source differs by an hour or more, the badge next to the value says so in one line. Where no official source could be captured, we print "not published" rather than a third-party number. Hours with a conflict are re-checked monthly, the rest quarterly, and the check date on the badge is the one to trust, not the date at the top of the article.

For your own trip, do what one traveller did before a family flight: "I called the Plaza Premium Lounge Domestic phone number and talked to staff." (user report, Reddit, 2023–2026). The current rate card is on the official GTAA lounge booking page; the operator's own list of Pearson rooms is on the Plaza Premium finder for Toronto Pearson.

Reviews vs facts

Pearson lounge reviews are polarised because of who writes them: "is it worth it" threads attract people who queued or paid and were disappointed, and the same rooms collect one-star and four-star verdicts in the same month. "worst lounge in North America?" is the title of one Priority Pass thread (user report, Reddit, 2025–2026); from the same airport, "Honestly surprised by how nice the shower rooms are" (user report, Reddit, 2024–2026).

Separate what you can check from what you cannot. Status, hours, who is admitted, the door price, the maximum stay and whether a room exists are documented facts with a source and a date – that is what this page carries. Food, cleanliness, noise and staff attitude change by hour and by reviewer, and we report them only as quotes with attribution. If a review contradicts a sourced fact here, the fact wins until the source changes; if it contradicts another review, both are probably true on their respective days.
